Vertical Aeronautic Transports

Vertical Aeronautic Transports (VAERT) represents a ficticious non-governmental company and exclusive provider of space elevators.
Deriving from a concept of famed sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke, the project analyses the current (as of 2015) status of technology and science for a future scenario of commercial space transportation. From material constraints of elevator cables to geographic limitations of lift-off terminals, the outcome of a book and a set of packagings investigates the topic at the crossroad of technology, science and design in a speculative way.

“The space elevator will be built about 50 years after everyone stops laughing.” – Arthur C. Clarke
